I first met Charlotte many many years ago, so many I can’t remember the year it was!

I was working in John Lewis Peterborough in the visual merchandising department and Charlotte joined the team. Working with her was great fun and the days went by quickly, practical jokes, gossiping and general silliness were in abundance! She was driven and always talked of her love for art and her ambitions.

I got a transfer to Oxford Street branch and Charlotte moved onto pastures new, she came to visit me in London, one memorable occasion was New Years Eve 1999, somehow Charlotte had got an apartment …so plush. Marylebone High Street … our base for the night. We set off to see the new year in on the Embankment… only could not get anywhere near as it was absolutely packed. We walked for miles, Charlotte saying “Katie you do know where we are don’t you?” ..me.. “of course I do, just round this corner then we are not far away”. Inside I was saying I haven’t got a bloody clue!… We had to admit defeat and so we decided to head back to base and watch the fireworks off the roof of the apartment block. A few hours later and a few £££’s out of pocket (after hailing a cab as far as we could get for the little money we had on us!) we were back at base to see the Millennium in. When anyone asks about the Millennium and where I was I think of that night and Charlotte.

The years passed and we lost touch only recently getting back in touch on Facebook. Seeing what she achieved in those years, finding her Mr right, becoming a mother of two beautiful children and fulfilling her ambitions and more in her artwork made me really happy. What has struck me most in seeing photos of her posted on Facebook is the absolute love in her eyes for her children – that twinkle in her eyes of love that never leaves you. Also how many absolutely fantastic friends she has around her, that have been there for her and written the most loving posts on this page.
